In 2024, Matthew Santis launched the Wappingers Warriors 10U travel baseball program with a vision for the future of competitive youth baseball in our community. Following a successful spring season, we were thrilled to announce the expansion of our program to include 8U and 9U teams, and we have exciting plans for continued growth!

Rebranded in 2025 to Storm, this program offers a unique and comprehensive approach to youth travel baseball. Matt brings a wealth of experience to the organization, having played baseball at the high school, college, and instructional levels. His personal journey through the sport, coupled with strong mentorship from respected coaches, has instilled in him a deep passion for developing young players and helping them reach their full potential. He understands that baseball, beyond the physical skills, is a deeply psychological game, one that can be incredibly humbling and rewarding.

The Storm's core mission is to empower young athletes to strive for success at the high school and collegiate levels. We believe that with the right guidance and support, every player can achieve their baseball dreams. What sets The Storm apart is our strong partnership with both local high schools. These invaluable relationships provide us with access to experienced players and coaches who serve as mentors, offering unmatched coaching support and creating a direct pathway for player development. This collaboration ensures that our players receive expert instruction and gain insights into what it takes to succeed at the next level.

We recognize the increasing trend of pay-to-play programs in the area, and we understand the impact this can have on our local town youth recreational leagues.  The Storm is a non-profit organization, committed to providing a high-quality, competitive travel baseball experience that supports our belief that young players should have access to competitive baseball opportunities without financial barriers and developing fundamental skills and a love for the game is paramount.  The Wappinger Storm is dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community and sportsmanship is as important as winning games.
